Waltz of Shadows and Chains by Mason Carter

Waltz of Shadows and Chains

In twilight's grasp, where shadows dwell,
Among the ruins of dreams once bright,
Echoes whisper a mournful spell,
As lovers fade into the night.
The castle looms, a fortress cold,
Its walls adorned with gold and lies,
Where passion’s flame was bought and sold,
And love now drips from hollow sighs.
Each heartbeat bound by threads of fate,
In this mercantile masquerade,
Where hopes are crushed beneath the weight,
Of wealth amassed, and trust betrayed.
Yet in the dark, a glimmer glows,
A flicker of what could still be true,
For love, like freedom, fiercely grows,
When hearts unite in the face of blue.
With ghostly hands, we grasp the air,
As chains of greed rattle in the gloom,
But love’s soft voice, a sacred prayer,
Whispers of gardens yet to bloom.
Oh, sweet defiance in each embrace,
Where souls entwine, a daring leap,
Through shadows thick, we carve our space,
In solidarity, our promise deep.
For love’s not found in silver's gleam,
But in the eyes that spark with fight,
A vision born from shared esteem,
In the cold of night, we spark our light.
So let us waltz through haunted halls,
Where specters of the past may roam,
In every step, a freedom calls,
As we reclaim our rightful home.
In twilight's grasp, where shadows dwell,
We'll shatter chains and weave our fate,
For love, like justice, breaks the spell—
A revolution, bold and straight.
