The Karoons Came by Mason Carter

The Karoons Came

They came forth and said:
“What doth thou desire?
Take it from us then, glad!?
We shall accept thy faith,
Prostrate before thy Lord,
Offer thee the lands and gold
And any woman thou desire!
And all we beg thee,
Is to not be against the system!
Don’t demand that slaves must be free!
Don’t say that they are like us!
That they have same rights as us!
Donot talk against the concentration
Of gold, wealth and power.”
He listened, smiled and said
“Place the sun on my one hand
And then moon on the other.
Be that as it may!
I shall destroy thy system!”
